Rambling Find

This afternoon, we rode to Donalds and rambled through the antique mall. I spotted two goblets that I almost bought on the last trip and decided they were meant to come home with us. They still had the West Virginia Glass factory sticker on them. Most likely, they will appear in a tablescape at some point.

2013 Holiday Knitting Projects

Being under the weather during the Christmas season has given me a lot of time to knit. Below are pictures of snowmen and snowflake dishcloths for January and Valentine cloths for

Today's Find

While thrifting today, I happened upon these two Bordallo Pinheiro salad/dessert plates. They were made in Portugal. I love the soft yellow. My only regret is there were only two. Can't you imagine them in a tablescape using pastels?

Treasures of the Day

The first find today was a set of eight salad or dessert plates. They are The Topiary Collection of Andrea by Sadek. There are four different designs and I liked the colors as well as the topiary theme. A local thrift store had these.
Wedgwood bone china was the second find of the day and it spoke to me in a consignment shop. The pattern name is Kutani Crane and there were eight dinner plates, six salad plates, and three cups and saucers. It had just come in and did not have tags yet. The owner saw me eyeing it and quoted me the price per piece. It was such a deal and hard to believe. (Upon checking Replacements prices, I see that it is a better deal than I realized! ) After examining each piece, I told her we would think about it. My idea was to walk down the sidewalk to another shop while thinking. The only problem was that I could not walk away from the table. So, after asking hubby if he liked the pattern, we carried them to the checkout to purchase. The wheels in my head are already working on a tablescape to use it.

Pantry Cabinet

Several weeks ago, it came to mind that we needed a pantry cabinet for extra storage. Thus began a search for the perfect one. After looking for ideas online, we went to an unfinished furniture store and found a possibility. It would have worked, but I really wanted something with character and a glass door.
We made a trip to Greenville to check out the unfinished furniture store there. On the way, David suggested that we make a stop at Southern Housepitality, our favorite consignment shop. Would you believe that he found the perfect cabinet there and spotted it before I did? It was love at first sight. Just to make sure, we did go on to the other store, but guess what would not leave my mind alone? Yes, it was the other cabinet. So, we could not get back fast enough to get it. Luckily, we were in the truck, so we brought it home that day.
Below is a picture of the empty cabinet and then another after it had been dressed. It has been a nice addition to the kitchen as well as being very useful.
