For David's 60th birthday, he chose to have a small supper party. The tables were decorated with some of his things that represent his interests and hobbies. Also, I chose china and linens with him in mind.
Nannie's Sunday dishes were kept in a corner cabinet in her dining room. I remember seeing them there but never remember them being used. The pattern is Countess by Homer Laughlin. I was fortunate enough to get them after her death.
